This application is made because the property lies within the area covered by TPO 11/2000. The trees themselves are not individually scheduled specimens (they are not tagged as a specific T1 oak or similar). They are a mixed group of relatively small, slender deciduous trees on the rear boundary of No. 7. The mature oak on the neighbouring property is outside this application and no works are proposed to it. G1 Mixed species deciduous trees (slender rear boundary group), located beyond the rear hedge / fence of 7 Chichester Close (Photograph 2). Proposed specification of works to G1 only, to be carried out to BS 3998:2010 Tree Work Recommendations: 1. Crown lift on the garden side of No. 7 to approximately 2.1 metres (about 7 feet) above ground level, by removing or shortening low branches back to suitable growth points, so that the canopy clears the rear fence / hedge line and allows more light into the garden. 2. Lateral prune of branches overhanging the rear garden of No. 7 by up to 2.0 metres, cutting back to suitable lateral growth points / branch unions. No internodal topping cuts. 3. Remove significant deadwood only. No felling. No topping. No reduction of the trees down to fence height. The overall height and form of the group is to be retained. Works are limited to the portions of canopy affecting the amenity area of No. 7.
