- PendingHGY/2026/2934TWO ESTABLISHED YEW TREES – CROWN REDUCTION - Tree Management 1 Standing at the rear of the property, looking down the garden, there are two established Yew trees growing along the right-hand boundary. I would recommend reducing the height of both trees by approximately 2–2.5m, together with selective pruning of the lateral branches to reshape the crowns, maintaining a balanced, compact and rounded appearance. LABURNUM TREE – IVY REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT 2 Growing immediately to the right of the two Yew trees is an established Laburnum tree showing signs of deterioration, with several dead limbs visible within the lower crown and dense Ivy growth smothering sections of the upper canopy. As discussed, the tree provides valuable screening which you would prefer to retain. I would therefore recommend carefully reducing and thinning out the dense Ivy growth throughout the crown to alleviate some of the additional weight and stress being placed upon the supporting limbs, whilst preserving as much of the existing screening as reasonably possible. EUCALYPTUS TREE 3 Growing directly along the rear boundary is a large, established Eucalyptus tree. We have recently undertaken pruning works to an overhanging limb from the neighbouring property. With approval from the local authority. I would recommend reducing the overall height of the Eucalyptus by approximately 2.5-3m, together with reducing the lateral branches by approximately 1.5m, pruning back to appropriate pruning points. The works will also include removing dead, diseased and defective branches where identified, followed by selective pruning and reshaping of the remaining crown to achieve a balanced and proportionate finish. This reduction will help manage the overall size and spread of the tree whilst reducing the loading on its main structural limbs.
