The proposed works relate to T1 and T2 only, both mature beech trees (Fagus sylvatica) protected under TPO1048. Proposed works ? T1 and T2 Undertake selective lateral crown reduction to the building-facing aspects of both trees, targeting branches extending towards and overhanging the adjacent property. The objective is to establish approximately 2.5?3.0 metres of lateral clearance from the building, reducing affected branches back to the nearest suitable pruning points whilst retaining as much of the existing crown structure as practicable. The attached photographs illustrate the existing encroachment and the approximate proposed pruning limits, with the red lines indicating the intended extent of reduction. Justification The works are proposed in response to a neighbouring property complaint concerning branches encroaching upon the building, including reported contact with the roof and windows with the risk of damage. Given the maturity and protected status of these trees, I believe a limited and sympathetic intervention is the most appropriate approach. There is no justification for a wholesale crown reduction or removal of otherwise unaffected branches. The intention is simply to provide reasonable separation between the trees and the building, reducing the likelihood of continued contact and potential damage whilst preserving their natural form, structural integrity and considerable amenity value. The proposed 2.5?3.0m clearance will be achieved wherever suitable pruning points permit, without compromising the long-term health or structural integrity of either tree.

T1 - T7. Crown lift the row of 7 trees (6 horse chestnut and 1 lime) in the rear garden of west lodge, to create a clearance from the ground of up to 5m. Reason: To better enjoy using the garden without having branches hanging in faces.
