    1. T841 poplar in W4 of TPO - Crown lift branches overhanging area for new substation to a height of 4m above ground level, pruning back to suitable growth points (south-east side of crown). Pruning to be carried out in accordance with BS3998:2010 Tree work ? Recommendations. 2. Excavations for foundations for substation in part of Root Protection Area of T841 poplar: works to be informed by hand digging of trial trench to assess roots (north-west corner and northern boundary of substation) to a depth of 1m. Digging works to be carried out in accordance with accompanying Arboricultural Method Statement. 2 significant roots (3cm and 2m diameter) have already been found at start of hand digging works. Following completion of the construction of the foundations and substation, mitigation works to be carried out to ameliorate the soil of the remainder of the Root Protection Area of T841 poplar in the form of vertical mulch injections into soil using biochar to feed the roots. T002 - Oak Suggested Works: Dismantle in stages to near ground level G003 - Ash Suggested Works: Dismantle in stages 2x trees to near ground level The Oak has reduced vitality and is suppressed by the neighbouring trees, not worthy of retention. The two Ash trees have been subjected to significant pruning on the field side due to a new infrastructure installation. The trees are now side weighted over the highway and also exhibit signs of decline, potentially due to Ash Dieback Disease. Due to the natural regeneration expected here we don't consider a replanting condition appropriate in this instance.
