The tree in question is a sapling Lime tree, planted in our front garden by the housing developer approximately 15 years ago. It has grown significantly in the last 15 years and a local tree surgeon has advised us that it will grow to around 40m. It will be far too tall and wide for the garden and will start to damage the foundations of the house. Our neighbour has mature lime trees in their garden and they are enormous. So we want to fell it and replace it with a more appropriately sized tree. The tree surgeon we talked to made us aware that there is a TPO on the tree (order number 71/00022/C). We weren't told about this when we bought the house and we are confused why is it in place. The developer planted a tree in the front garden of every house but only our tree, our immediate neighbour's and the mature trees on the street are covered by this TPO so we were wondering if it was a mistake? We would like to talk to someone about this please. Thank you.
