Planning Activity
- Pending26/00984/CANCrown reduction of 1 Maple tree to just below previous reduction point and removal of limb growing from base. The tree is a fully grown Acer the tree has grown to such an extent, that it requires a crown reduction, and the shaping and cutting back of its lower branches.

- Approved26/00921/CANT1 – Apple Tree (Malus species) – Crown Reduction Location: Within the garden of 64 Bath Road, immediately adjacent to the boundary with 62 Bath Road. Proposed works: Reduce the entire crown evenly back to the established previous pruning points (knuckles), as agreed in onsite visit today 08/10/26 retaining the main trunk and established framework to allow future regrowth. Reason: Several overhead telephone and broadband cables pass through the canopy. Pruning only the branches interfering with these cables would leave the crown significantly unbalanced, particularly as the tree already leans towards the property. The trunk is also hollow, raising concerns regarding structural stability. Reducing the crown evenly to its previous pruning points will reduce the canopy weight, avoid creating an uneven load and minimise interference with the overhead cables while retaining the tree. T2 – Conifer – Complete Removal Location: Along the retaining wall forming the boundary between 64 and 66 Bath Road. Proposed works: Fell and remove the conifer to ground level. Reason: The tree is situated immediately adjacent to the existing retaining wall, which requires essential structural repairs. Its position and associated root system obstruct the necessary repair works. T3 – Conifer – Complete Removal Location: Along the same retaining wall between 64 and 66 Bath Road, adjacent to T2. Proposed works: Fell and remove the conifer. Reason: As with T2, the tree’s proximity to the retaining wall obstructs essential structural repairs. Removal is required to facilitate these works safely and effectively. Additional Information All three trees and the proposed works were discussed with the Worcester City Council Tree Officer during a site visit on 8 October 2026. The locations of T1, T2 and T3 are identified on the accompanying Tree Works Plan, with supporting photographs showing the trees and proposed pruning locations. Replacement Planting No replacement trees are proposed at this stage because the removal of T2 and T3 is necessary to facilitate repairs to the existing retaining wall. The apple tree (T1) will be retained and allowed to regenerate.
