English yew (Taxus baccata) identified as T003 on the accompanying tree survey and classified as Category B. As recommended by our tree surgeon, we propose a crown reduction of approximately 1–2 metres across the entire tree including branches overhanging the neighbouring property to reduce its overall size while maintaining its natural shape. Our property is within a conservation area. We have been unable to establish whether the tree is also subject to a Tree Preservation Order (TPO). As the form does not offer an 'Unknown' option we have selected 'No' but would be grateful if the Council could confirm its TPO status and process the application accordingly.

T1 - Tree of Heaven tree ///gallons.plates.icons Located within the car park of the Downs Syndrome Association, within Langdon Park. Lift by approximately 3 metres, due to the car park area located below this tree. Kindly note that urgent dangerous works have already been approved for : Reduce and reshape of the dying canopy back to the live growth points, by approximately 3-4 metres, with the most natural shape possible and lift by approximately 3 metres. The tree is located in a high-risk area and has already shed a substantial limb, which caused damage to a parked vehicle. There is also evidence of deadwood within the crown, along with signs of crown dieback. Removing the dead stems alone could leave the tree structurally unbalanced and compromise its overall form. A considered crown reduction would help mitigate this risk by restoring a more symmetrical, balanced canopy while retaining the tree’s overall structure. I would therefore recommend a crown reduction as the most appropriate course of action to address the identified concerns and improve the tree’s structural balance.
