The tree is T0134 T33 CONF (Prunus). The requested work is a full tree removal and disposal to be conducted by Pats Tree Surgery. The reason for the requested removal is that the tree has heart rot and structural failure. As a result the tree is hollow through the core of the trunk, estimated to have hollowed >75% of the wood so the remaining shell/bark remaining is thin and the tree is at risk of collapse. The branches are also hollow. Furthermore, the structural failure means the tree is currently standing at a c. 45 degree angle and is a high risk of falling over. This tree presents a significant safety risk for both our young children, myself, my wife, and other members of the public who are walking on the pavement on the other side of my fence. The tree is sitting directly up against the fence so in the event it does fall or collapse there is significant risk that it will push over or break through the fence onto the public pavement potentially injuring passers by.

T1–T6 – Lawson cypress: Fell the row of six trees to ground level and grind out the stumps. Three of the six trees have a stem diameter exceeding 75mm when measured at 1.5 metres above ground level. All six are included to show the full extent of the proposed works. The trees are growing in a narrow raised bed and are causing damage to the surrounding walling and fence. Following their removal, the wall will be repaired and a new hedge planted, potentially using yew.
